The Arkansas River is 10 minutes down Chalk Creek so the fishing and boating are world class. In the spring time we put in (kayaking) just down the creek —this drops us right into the Arkansas. If you head west from the cabins, you'll dead end in St Elmo 10 miles away. This area is one of the most amazing, untapped parts of Colorado for hiking, biking or backcountry skiing. Over the last few years, we have been exploring the area, and having lived in Jackson, Wyoming, Crested Butte and Northwest Montana we have very high standards for accessibility and snow quality. The Sawatch range that surrounds the cabins does indeed stack up. The snowmobile trails are extremely well maintained for motorheads or ski touring, and Princeton Riding Stables is located just down the road for exceptional equine entertainment (trail rides). So get up here, and get out there.
There are many great businesses and services to check out around the valley. Below are a few of our favorites. Check out our Partners and Friends page as well.
