  Cottonwood is a split level cabin. The primary cabin used to be the old Cottonwood Lakes post office at the turn of the century. It was moved (by horse train) to it's current location around 1920. The addition was built on site, as was the quartz fireplace. The aging owner, Alma Cowgill handbuilt the fireplace after being unimpressed with the masons initial attempts.
Though smaller than Hortense, most people find that Cottonwood has a certain magic you can't quite put your finger on.
Cottonwood is about 15 minutes from Buena Vista, and 20 minutes from Salida. Chalk Creek Canyon lies between Mt. Antero and Mt. Princeton. The Colorado Trail is 100 feet from the front door. Hortense is about 75 feet away.

This is a 2 level cabin, a staircase connects upstairs living room and bedroom to downstairs kitchen, bath and bedroom.

POOL
Pools are spring feed and flow constantly. Pools are drained and refilled between guests.
Depending on spring flow, the pools may not be totally full upon arrival but should be full by around 4 pm.
However, even if partly filled, you can certainly soak when you arrive! We refill pools for your stay to ensure you have the purest, most beautiful water in the world.
COTTONWOOD RATES:
$200 per night based on 1 or 2 people
+ $10 per night for each additional person
Prices valid only for current calendar year. Rates subject to change.
2 night minimum on weekends
Single night stay available Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.
Starting June 1, 2007, there will be a two-night minimum stay.
(since 99% of our guests regret just one night!)
If you wish to pay by cash, please make arrangements when making your reservation. We can hold your reservation with a credit card.

A 7% lodging tax will be added...we know, talk to our local and state government.

Check in is 3pm, Checkout is 10:30am.
For $25 (per cleaning) we can provide additional housekeeping services. Kirsten or Linda will come by between 11 and 2 to tidy up, and leave fresh towels. Please make arrangements before your stay. Stays of more than 5 days receive a mid-stay clean for no additional charge.
